Texting for Jesus

As if spam on our e-mails isn’t bad enough, or telemarketers, now I’ve got the JESUS FREAKS sending me text messages!

Why don’t these people leave everybody alone?  Why do they think that it IS God’s will that they convert every last human to believe in something that supposedly happened two thousand years ago.  I say ’supposedly’ not because I don’t doubt that Jesus did exist, rather I question what has been written about him for it’s accuracy.  As explained in my previous post, “WHAT’S IN YOUR BIBLE?” it’s all hearsay!  How do we know something actually occurred?

Well, it pissed me off to the extent that I called my cell carrier.  I am not a text person – see no reason in it…,  and don’t do it.  I put a block on all text msgs to my phone.  I have told all my friends not to text me, so they don’t.  Why should I have to PAY for text messages from someone else;  someone I don’t even know?

Yeah…, Jesus died for MY sins?  Oh, ‘cmon!  He didn’t die for anybody’s sins, you fools!  That’s just the guilt trip the church has cooked up to scare everybody and keep them in line.  That goes with the ‘devil’ stuff, too.  The ‘devil’ is only the ‘darkness’ in man; lower tendencies.  No, you blithering brainwashed idiots – Jesus did not DIE for ‘YOUR’ sins or those of anybody  else.  He was an example, just like other teachers:  Buddha, Mohammad and on down the line. He wanted to show the possibilities of man, not his own superiority!

Don’t try to show this stuff down my throat.  Believe what you want to believe but keep it to yourself.  I have no use nor patience for those who think it’s their job to ’save’ others.

I don’t need saving from anything, thank you!

Let’s Take Back OUR FOOD!

If you think that environmental issues don’t concern you or there’s nothing you can do about them, you’re wrong! It is YOU, the AMERICAN CONSUMER who MUST SPEAK OUT, ACT UP and TAKE CONTROL.  The government, big corporations and agribusinesses are NOT acting in your best interests!  It’s their wallet that is the main concern, not yours!  So, get off your lazy, complacent butts and DO SOMETHING!

There are numerous sites detailing environmental disregard -and- total disregard for human life on this planet BY food companies and agricultural chemical companies.  You and I and this planet are being POISONED by thousands of chemicals a day because the likes of Monsanto and Bayer… those kindly aspirin people.

We do not know the long-term results of eating GMO (genetically modified organisms).  Nobody does!  GMO food have been made resistant to herbicides and GM food is so prevalent in today’s food.  This is frightening!  LEARN MORE!

DO THE RESEARCH.  Do it for your kids, your friends, your family, your friends and if you care enough – our planet.

This government is supposed to be FOR the PEOPLE and BY THE PEOPLE.

It isn’t.

You CAN DO something….. only if you want to.  If you’re the   l e a s t    bit concerned about our food supply, if you care at all about what you’re kids are eating from ’supposedly’ natural sources (much of  it lies…) ===  then DO SOMETHING!

What the food companies and the government are telling you isn’t always the truth!  We, the American people, have to stand up for our rights and make the FDA listen to us, not the corporate lobbyists!

It will hurt YOU, anybody who owns a few chickens, one cow,  some goats and every small farmer in this country.  It will force many of them out of business, JUST what the big agri-businesses want!

If this bill passes….. YOU and I will suffer.  The “Food Police” will effectively shut down many, many small farmers because of the cost and bureaucracy OF NAIS and governmental regulation!

HR2749 missed passing only by a few votes today, but it could come back tomorrow, Thursday.

No committee report, three different bill versions presented, last minute closed-door negotiations – complete mayhem.  Congress had no idea what they were voting on.

It could come up Thursday if the Rules Committee permits another vote – which we see as a complete abuse of power – under a closed rule that prohibits amendments and requires only a simple majority vote, highly unusual for this type of legislation.  We are unsure what the Rules Committee will do or allow.

PLEASE continue calling – call your representative AGAIN to voice your opposition over this bill and to attempts to rush it through without debate.

The bill still includes:

1) unprecedented and sweeping authority granted to FDA – access to records without cause, the authority to regulate all farming practices, and ability to impose substantial criminal and civil fines without a showing of harm;

2) lack of protection for small, organic and diversified farms – regulations created for large industrial facilities will financially ruin smaller operations;

3) a $500 annual registration fee whether making jam in your kitchen to sell within your community or if General Mills selling worldwide.

There is no amendment that will “fix” this bill.  We want to stop this bill.

The “Octo-Mom Show”

We knew it would happen sooner or later, right?  This woman and her artificial and unnatural birth of eight babies at once will be a reality show.

Says a lot about society, doesn’t it?

This woman is clearly unbalanced.  She didn’t want to stop at 6 children, which she was unable to care for mentally, financially and physically.   For whatever reason and however,  (you all know the story) she deemed to have even MORE children.

In the real world outside of fertility clinics, this smacks of women who are ‘addicted’ to babies or infants.  They give birth and when the child reaches a certain age, they have another child, just to have a baby around the house!

The human body was not designed to carry 8 fetuses.  Humans are not dogs or pigs;  they’re a ’single serving’ entity. Maybe twins or triplets in rare cases…, but for the most part one at a time!  Octomom didn’t want to do the ‘one-at-a-time’ routine.  She wanted to get the biggest bang for her buck – an ‘Insta-Family.’

Now we have this woman, who has already become a phenomenon, and her children – who are just infants -  being  paid to be filmed.  Yes, I realize there are child labor laws…. but for God’s sake…, these kids aren’t ‘working’.  They’re shitting in their diapers, crying, crawling, drooling, eating and doing what babies DO!  Hopefully people will get bored with being voyeurs of  this absurdity quickly.

I bet this will give her money to go back for another round of multiple births!

Paying NYC Teachers To Do Nothing

At one time, unions were a good thing.  At their inception they protected workers from abuses:  being locked in a sewing factory, mistreatment by management, child labor violations and a host of other heinous crimes.  Now, however, the pendulum has swung the other way.

To the cost of about $65 million dollars a year, taxpayers in New York are ‘paying’ teachers to do nothing.

Granted, some are in these ‘rubber rooms’ for serious offenses: Some have been convicted of sexual harassment, and should probably be elsewhere other than here on the dole.  Others have been ‘reassigned’ because of petty infractions.  Some have gotten on the wrong side of an administrator, but union rules prevent them from being fired.

Other unions:   the autoworkers union, IAW has their own version of these rooms where workers await reassignment and/or retraining.

Granted, some union rules do protect workers…, others are outrageous.  A friend of mine who has worked for a telephone company for about 30 years, complains when there is a threatened benefits cut.  I tell her that she’s damn LUCKY to have a job that pays ANY BENEFITS at all…, never mind the $20+ an hour she makes!  It’s become a joke between us that every year, in August, it’s time for the phone company strike!

These days, most jobs pay little, if any benefits.   Companies are hiring only part-time workers,  giving them  j-u-s-t  enough hours but not enough to qualify for benefits.  Lowe’s recently started following Wal-Mart’s lead:  hiring people for an hour or two short each week of the required 35 for benefits.

Face it, folks, the average worker is screwed!  If you’re IN a union – DON’T COMPLAIN – because YOU have a LOT MORE than the average American worker.

DIET Green Tea ?

Isn’t GREEN TEA a low calorie drink ANYWAY?  Why in God’s name does there have to be Lipton DIET Green Tea?

I almost fell over!

What IS wrong with the corporate mentality that comes up with this garbage that is supposed to pass as ‘healthy’ food? They’ve bastardized TEA into a chemical-laden beverage with absolutely no nutritional value; not that it has any in the first place!

The word ‘diet’ slithered its way into mainstream food back in the 60’s. To satisfy the American public’s desire for ‘healthy’ foods, they scientifically engineer this crap. With one hand in the ‘low fat’ potato chip bag and the other clutching an artificially processed drink, we Americans are chugging it down our three-chinned gullets like waters from the Fountain of Youth!  IF YOU MAKE IT – and LABEL IT ‘DIET’… ‘HEALTHY’ or  ‘NATURAL’ – THEY WILL EAT IT!

There is not ONE PERSON on this earth that will convince me that all the artificial crap in food ISN’T the cause of cancer and obesity.  Our bodies can’t figure out how to metabolize this junk.

Add to this that all of the meat, milk (and dairy products)  and eggs contain growth hormones – and that most of the people in this country…. the FATTEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD – never think what that animal was pumped full of during its miserable life on the stinking feed lot or in a putrid, overcrowded cage!

DO YOU EVER READ LABELS ON FOOD BEFORE YOU BUY IT?

If you can’t pronounce it, or don’t know WHAT it is – don’t eat it!

Random Rantings…..

Drive up window up selling….. Never MIND you have to deal with the totally annoying recorded monotone, sticky sweet  announcement…” Good Morning – would you like to try our Texas toast Breakfast?” before you get to talk to a live person!  Frigging gag – NO!  Then I order… A, as in  ONE, bacon egg & cheese biscuit and   a-l-w-a-y-s    add…”and that’s IT” (emphasis on the IT!) but they always ask “Would you like to make it a combo?”  Did I SAY I wanted a combo? No – I didn’t and I don’t feel like adding another thousand calories to my already fattening meal.

Pull ahead, please…. Sometimes there’s a snafu and you have to wait for your order so they ask you to pull up. Never fails….. some idiot thinks that pull up means to move up just far enough to get away from the drive up window.  Doesn’t matter that the guy behind you, or anyone else for that matter – can’t possibly get around you to get out.  This happened this morning.  The guy  two cars up, some old dude, just pulled forward about 5 feet and stopped.  The dumb ass in front of me obviously forgot that cars (usually)  come with HORNS.  A friendly tap would have let pops know he needs to move his Buick Roadmaster up another 10 feet.   The dude in front of me is just  sitting there and I’m ready to lean on the horn ’cause BOTH of these people left home without their brains!  ‘Course, Pops probably has an excuse – old age.  Could be stupidity, though!

WHY do we need 40 different kinds of Crest toothpaste? The next time you go down the toothpaste aisle, count how many different varieties of Crest there are.  Talk about trying to please everybody…. or -  trying to convince us that we NEED it.

An article appeared on Reuters news announcing new food safety standards are needed and the responsibility falls on state and local governments. Meanwhile, in the latest issue of “Organic Bytes”, Organic Consumers online newsletter, states that the Obama administration is considering former MONSANTO lawyer, Michael Taylor, has a long history of lobbying for Monsanto and fast tracking Monsanto’s controversial rBGH while at the FDA. Taylor is a case study of the “revolving door,” having worked within the USDA and FDA, as well as Monsanto. We, the American people, have to take steps to TAKE BACK OUR FOOD.  For too long the government has had their hands in the food supply, making decisions that were in the best interests of big business’ bottom line – NOT- for the health and safety of the public!  Washington has been bought and bribed by agri-business for decades!

The results are now showing up in people worldwide:  increased cancer rates, birth defects, illnesses, allergies.

More Toxic Imports From China

Indoor environments are thought to be safe, right?  Not so if you have a house constructed with Chinese wallboard and ceiling tiles

Following the devastating hurricanes in the south in 2005,  and building supply shortages, millions of pounds of Chinese wallboard was imported.  It has been found to give off fumes ( strontium sulfide)  which corrode copper pipes,  emits a rotten egg stench, tarnish silver and make people sick.  Researchers have identified highly toxic compounds in the drywall, including hydrogen sulfide, sulfuric acid, sulfur dioxide and carbon disulphide.   Investigators have found that the components, unlike U.S. manufactured wallboard, contained a coal product, fly ash, and have fumigants sprayed on the ingredients inside it.

This is just the latest in the round of contaminated Chinese products.  From baby formula to pet food ingredients, toys and cough syrup, U.S. officials are wondering ‘what’s next?’

What IS next?

The level of GREED and TOTAL DISREGARD for HUMAN LIFE from not only corporations here in America but overseas, has reached epidemic proportions.  Shortcuts are taken in secret to save money with no concern for  the potential for deaths and illness.  Chinese officials in the baby formula debacle purposely laced it with melamine to boost protein content.
